Foundation Swedish Massage

Foundation program
Consists of a combination of on-line bookwork and bodywork focusing on technique, body mechanics, and sequence within the scope of Swedish massage. Audio and video instruction weekly quizzes.
Course Description
Hands on video instruction includes:
Massage and bodywork assessment, theory and application
Within the scope of Swedish massage - techniques and strokes - compression, palming, cupping, flicking, friction, gliding, hair pulling, jostling, kneading, percussion, pinching, rocking, shaking, traction, and vibration.
Distance education:
Online instruction includes: 
Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology
Anatomical direction, planes of division, and body cavities. General knowledge of the ten body systems and processes through the study of anatomy and physiology and its correlation with massage therapy. Standard Deviants Anatomy 1 and 2 DVD's
Pathology
Medical terminology, signs and symptoms of disease, psychological and emotional states (depression, anxiety, grief), effects of physical and emotional abuse and trauma, and factors of/alleviation of disease (biological, psychological, environmental). Modes of contagious disease transmission (blood, saliva), effects of life stages (childhood, adolescence, and geriatric), indications, contraindications, and cautions for massage therapy, the principles of acute chronic conditions and the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Class breakdown
The syllabus is broken down into once a week segments,
if you chose to follow the syllabus the
entire course is five months long (or) twenty weeks.
The on-line course gives you the option to decide for yourself how
you're progressing, as well as to when you choose to move on to the next week's assignment.
Tuition $500.00
After the successful completion of the Foundation Program, the graduate
receives a 500 hour distance education
Certificate of Completion from Trinity School of Therapeutic Massage.
